Kurukshetra University Chaudhary Devi Lal Post Graduate Regional Centre Sirsa was set up during the year 2000. Later on in April 2003 it was declared as full-fledged University named as Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa. The University had been recognized by the University Grants Commission and declared eligible for Central Assistance under Section 12 (B) of UGC Act vide UGC letter No. F.9-17/2003 (CPP-1) dated 17.02.2009. The works construction of Boys Hostel No.2, Girls Hostel No.2, V.C. residence, Guest House had been started and completed by the University. In addition to above, houses of H, C, D, E, F & E-II categories, Water Treatment Plant, Over Head Service Reservoir, Boundary Wall on undisputed land, Commissioning of Water Supply and Sewage Scheme, OHSR, STP and other development works were taken in hand by the construction wing of Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa & completed. The prestigious works of Teaching Block No.II (Science Block), Media Centre, Sewage Treatment Plant, Library Building, Shopping complex, Main Gate, Internal Roads (Phase-II) & Parking, Construction of 6 nos C & 4 nos D Type & 3 Nos. F-type houses, Construction of Multipurpose Hall, Block “A” of Administrative Block, Air Conditioning Plant at MP Hall And Sound Reinforcement System at MP Hall, Construction of 11 KV Indoor Electric main Sub Station and Compact Sub Station, various types of more residential houses i.e. C, E & F, Building for Electric Sub Station, raising of boundary wall (southern side) and High Mast Lighting have also been completed. All the departments of science stream such as Physics, Chemistry, Bio-Technology, Mathematics, Food Science & Technology, Energy & Environmental Sciences are being run in the Teaching Block No.II i.e. C.V. Raman Bhawan (Science Block). Medical facility is made available to the students and employees of the university through its Health Centre. The various types of shops such as drycleaner, ladies & gents parlour, confectionery, photography, cyber café and stationery are being run in the building of University Shopping Complex. University Health centres & branch of Oriental Bank of Commerce with ATM is being run in the building of Shopping Complex. The facility of separate gents and ladies toilet is available at the university playground. Silent Generator Sets are also available in the university to meet out the requirement of power during power failure. Recently, the major construction projects “Construction of Girls Hostel No.3 & Teaching Block No.III” have been completed. The works “Construction of Super H, C, D, E & F type houses, laying of Sports Flooring at MP Hall, Construction of Construction of Water storage tank and providing sprinkler system in lawns & construction of Day Care Centre” are in progress. The fresh proposals i.e. Teaching Block No.4, Solar Energy Plant, Solar Water Heater Systems, more residential houses, construction of university boundary wall, construction of swimming pool, providing & laying of retractable chair at MP Hall, Construction & establishment of Herbal Parks, Construction of VIP Guest House, Construction of Transit Hostel, Extension of Construction Branch, Extension of Boys Hostel No.1 , Construction of Class Rooms & Seminar Hall, Extension of Tagore Bhawan, Construction of Information & Guidance Bureau, renovation of Cafeteria in shopping complex & MP Hall, renovation of class rooms & laboratories in Teaching Block No.1 & 2, and gym equipments in four hostels etc. are in pipeline.

The University is determined to provide a good-quality and well-rounded education and academic environment to all willing and have decided to join this institution. The University is destined to deliver knowledge in Science, Engineering, Commerce & Management, Humanities, Social sciences, Law, Education and all contemporary professional areas. It is committed to excellence in higher education. Education needs to have contemporary social relevance. Thus, the University has been updating itself in academic content and launching new academic programs to fulfil the market's demand for human resources and skills. We provide a cohesive environment for the faculty, students, and non-teaching staff that can provide scholarly contributions to their advancement of knowledge. The Academic Programmes have been designed innovatively and flexibly. There are core, discipline-specific, skill enhancement, and open elective courses (for students from other departments) in each program's curricula that cover knowledge, critical thinking, interdisciplinary approach and adaptation, application development, ethics and leadership, problem-solving, skills and inferential expertise, specialisation, and employability, among other topics. We are conducting quality research for the benefit of society. Our mission is to provide students with a holistic approach and enable a learning environment from various backgrounds. Extension activities and outreach programs will be enhanced through University Centre for Outreach Programme and Extension (UCOPE) and Centre for Rural Studies (CRS). University Centre for Distance Learning (UCDL) was introduced to cater to students who could not take up their studies regularly. In accordance with the mission statement, the University is committed to facilitating research and quality higher education in imparting knowledge within the jurisdiction of the University.
