About Us

Vinayaka Missions had its inception in the year 1981 with the establishment of the Thirumuruga Kirupananda Variyar Thavathiru Sundara Swamigal (TKVTSS) Medical Educational and Charitable Trust. Not far from then, in 1982, the Founder-Chairman, Dr. A Shanmugasundaram instituted the Vinayaka Mission's College of Pharmacy in Salem, the pioneer institution of Vinayaka Missions. In the year 2001 the "Deemed to be University" status was conferred on Vinayaka Missions by The Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India, with the recommendations of the UGC Under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 as an acknowledgement of its excellence, satisfaction of the highest level of academic standards and best infrastructural facilities provided to achieve preeminence in education and by virtue of this recognition Vinayaka Missions trascended to becoming Vinayaka Missions Research Foundation (VMRF) as the 48th University in India.

Close to 5000 staff members including renowned Faculty, technical and other experts serve our student community to achieve excellence in education and to make studying at VMRF institutions an extremely pleasurable and rewarding experience. The success of VMRF lies in its highly qualified and experienced faculty who are competent and dedicated to provide excellent education. VMRF takes pride in being the only one of its kind in India that has established three medical colleges, one dental college, and two engineering colleges apart from other paramedical homoeopathy colleges and Aviation Training Center.

Globalization & liberalisation has many faces. One of them is Aviation market, which is growing at a rapid pace, new aircrafts are being inducted into service, more air routes are being opened and open sky policy has encouraged new operators. Private & Civil Airlines are catering to the interim of country and also operating overseas augmenting their existing fleet. This phenomenal growth in aviation industry in India has resulted in developing a huge market for civil and private airlines. This in turn is creating a great demand for Aircraft Maintenance Engineers for maintaining and servicing of the fleet. In India lots of engineering colleges are mushrooming day by day and producing a mass of technocrat passing out every year in various streams but a very few aspirants know about the wonderful and promising field of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME). Realizing the fact, education is the only media through which technological requirements of the nation are fulfilled; Chairman Dr. A Shanmugasundaram founded the Vinayaka Missions Aviation Academy at Salem, Tamil Nadu in year 2013. VMAA is a widely applauded as an ideal, modern institution in the field of aviation science, and has been set up to bring about a Quantum improvement in the standards of Aircraft Maintenance. The VMAA is not only building up skill, attitude and work ethics among the students but also teaching the value of hard work for developing confidence in their ability to take care of themselves.
