Siddaganga Medical College and Research Institute, Tumakuru

Sree Siddaganga Math Tumakuru, Karnataka is one of the most ancient and renowned spiritual centres of South India situated amidst serene and colourful landscape at a distance Of 63 km from Bengaluru.

 On Bengaluru-Pune highway. Sree Siddaganga Math has a history of over 600 years and is working relentlessly on the philosophies of I2th Century Sharana Sree Basaveshwara namely, Kayaka (work is worship), Dasoha (share the excess earned) and seve (service to mankind).

Sree Siddaganga Math was founded by the great saint Sree Sree Gosala Siddeshwara Shivayogi .His Holiness Dr. Sree Sree Shivakumara Mahashivayogi was initiated to the holy order in 1930 by his guru His Holiness Sree Sree Uddanashivayogi and became the Mathadhyaksha of the Math (Revered President) in the year 1941. His Holiness was an embodiment of piety, spirituality and compassion to the poor and rural masses. Starting with only one Veda and Sanskrit Pathashala with 80 students Sree Siddaganga Education Society under the presidentship of His Holiness Dr. Sree Sree Shivakumara Mahashivayogi has been able to establish 125 institutions of learning commencing from nursery to advanced technical education. Most of these institutions are established in rural areas to facilitate education to underprivileged. The flagship institution among these is Siddaganga Institute of Technology Tumakuru  which has several accolades to its credit and is among top I00 engineering institutions in the country consecutively for last sixth years under NIRF.

Apart from running the several institutions as mentioned above the parent organization Sree Siddaganga Math is running a Gurukula where about I0,000 underprivileged rural boys are provided free education, boarding and lodging without discrimination of caste and community.
