NORTH BENGAL CHESS ACADEMY

Mr. Anand Rai is the founder and Principal of the North Bengal Chess Academy (NBCA). He is also a qualified National Instructor. He started NBCA in the year 1998 with the intention to promote chess. He is a FIDE rated player and among the early players in Jalpaiguri. He has more than three decade experience not only as an active chess player but also a dedicated chess trainer. His students actively participate at district, state, national, commonwealth, Asia and international level tournaments, successfully. He was awarded the Vivekananda Swamaj Bhondhu award for his selfless contribution to the promotion of chess in Jalpaiguri, this is the first time anyone in Jalpaiguri was facilitated with this award.
