Purnea College of Engineering

Purnea College of Engineering (PCE) is one of the new Government Engineering College established by the Government of Bihar under the Department of Science and Technology. It will start its first academic session 2017 from campus of Government Polytechnic, near Ram Nagar, Purnea.

The new engineering college will have four engineering branches - Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronics & Communication with an intake of 60 per branch and 240 students in total.

Simultaneously there has been ongoing innovations and up gradation in course contents and in teaching and training methodologies in sync with India’s emerging as a technological superpower and the hub of developing technologies and technical manpower. Needless to say, the Institute has scaled new heights and established standards of excellence duly recognized by its entitlement as An Institute of Excellence by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

To consistently strive for excellence in engineering education by producing skilled, trained and knowledge- driven engineers who fit into the current and future requirements of industries and organisations, and thereby contributing to the growth of the country. Purnea College of Engineering is a full-fledged Govt. Institution in the Deptt. of Science & Technology, Govt. of Bihar and is bound to function as such.

However in Academic and related areas it has to be responsive and participants in the decisions and deliberations of All India Council for Technical Education and other apex bodies like Indian School for Technical Education, Technical Teachers Training Institutes etc. ensuring innovations in Pedagogical and practical aspects of Technical Education.

The Administration and Management of the Institute are oriented to these ends too.
Though the Principal is the overall in-charge of all activities and movements of the Institute for smooth functioning and making administration work efficient the following service departments work each under a Professor of proven capability. The Institute is academically governed by Aryabhatta Knowledge University, Patna which is the degree awarding authority for the institute as B.Tech. and is recognized by the A.I.C.T.E., New Delhi, and the Government of Bihar State.
