ABOUT US

Maharani Kalyani College is situated in Darbhanga in Bihar state of India. Established in 1970, it is accredited from NAAC and it is affiliated to Lalit Narayan Mithila University. MKC, Darbhanga offers 17 courses across 3 streams namely Arts, Science, Commerce and Banking and across 3 degrees like BA, BSc, B.Com. MKC campus is spread over 16185 Sqft. Hostel facility is available for girls only. Additional campus facilities such as Canteen, Computer Lab, Library, Cls. Room, Sports are also there.

In due course the college was accredited by NAAC for the first time in 2005 under the leadership of Late Jiveshwar Jha, Principal of the college. In 2013, the college underwent reaccreditation by NAAC in the second cycle under the charismatic leadership of Dr. S. Arvind Singh and the grade improved with “B”. The college is regularly publishing its college magazine” KALYANI” since last seven years. At the same time the college is publishing two research journals with ISSN no. The one “BIOJOURNAL” (ISSN: 0970-9444) is devoted to the publication of original research work in bioscience. The other “KALYANI RESEARCH JOURNAL” (ISSN : 2454-3179) is a multi-lingual and multi faculty journal.

The college regularly arranges study tour, seminars and guest lectures. Special classes are arranged for slow and fast learners.

Dual degree courses are provided through Nalanda Open University, Patna of which there is a study centre in the college. Our regular students can opt for more than fifty certificate courses offered by NOU along with regular mode of courses.

Presently college is imparting teaching in Science and Arts at intermediate level and Science, Arts and Commerce at degree Honours level and is catering the needs of more than 4000 student.
