The BDS course offered by Amrita School of Dentistry commenced in September 2003 and was inaugurated by Smt. Sushma Swaraj, the then Minister for Health and Family Welfare of the Government of India.
An integrated approach combining extensive clinical practice with rigorous course work promotes a better understanding of dentistry and its relationship to overall health. The Institute offers Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) in 9 specialties of Dentistry, and a UG Diploma in Dental Mechanics including 255+ seats approved.
High-quality training facilities are available in Craniofacial Surgery and Plastic Surgery apart from regular classes in all specialties in dentistry such as Orthodontics, Prosthodontics, Conservative Dentistry, Pediatric Dentistry, Oral Medicine and Radiology, Periodontics & Implantology, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral Pathology & Microbiology, and Community Dentistry.
