ABOUT US
Government Engineering College(GEC), Samastipur is a Government Engineering College established in the year 2019 by the Government of Bihar under the Department of Science and Technology. The college is spread over an area of 19 Acres at Near Sarairanjan, Narghoghi Block, Samastipur. The building is handed over in 14.10.2022 by Executive Engineer Building Division. The college is established under “Saat Nischay Yojna” of Bihar Government. The idea behind its establishment is to cater growing needs of increasing technical demands in our society. The institute is affiliated to Bihar Engineering University, Patna. All the courses are approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi.
The first session commenced from 08/09/2019 with total intake of 240 and 60-60 students in Mechanical and Civil Engineering branch or 120 students in Electrical Engineering. Its first academic session in 2019 started in the campus of MIT Muzaffarpur. Government Engineering College, Samastipur has excellent facilities to pursue technical studies and research. The institute is wifi campus with 24 hours power supply with generator facility. The institute has all the modern facilities such as Modern Library with reading room for students, Computer Centre, Auditorium, fully equipped Mechanical Workshop, Modern Laboratory and Separate hostels for boys’ and girls’.
