Nagendra Jha Mahila College, Laheriasarai. Situated in the heartland of Mithila region, this college is a dream destination for girl students of this locality. This college is named after Dr. Nagendra Jha, Who was a self – made man. He had a humble beginning as a lecturer at C.M. College and by dint of his amiable nature and hard work rose to become education minister of Bihar. It was his abiding love for his place and Mithila that prompted his well-wishers to open this University Darbhanga. I will take this opportunity to express my gratitude towards university authorities for their kind co-operation and proper guidance.
This is the era of women empowerment and empowerment of Women is closely linked to the opportunities they have in the field of education. And this was guiding force behind the establishment of this college. And , at present , after thirty years of its inception, this college imparts education in all three faculties – Science , Arts, and Commerce. It is a matter of fact that maximum students of this college belong to economic downtrodden class.
It is the result of firm commitment of Bihar Government towards Women empowerment that this college is progressing by leaps and bounds. I am thankful to all of my colleagues for their co-operation in smooth functioning of this college and hope the same in future. I am grateful to Central Government as well as UGC for their assistance on all fronts.
