Bachelor of Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc) a 4-year undergraduate degree program. The course is just not limited to the conservation of fishes but also imparts knowledge about catching, managing, breeding, and marketing the fishes. It is a multidisciplinary science, that draws on the study and investigation of fish processing, aquaculture and fishery resource management, fishing technology and management, fisheries ecology, and fisheries extension.
Candidates who wish to pursue B.F.Sc. must have a research-oriented background as it is a multidisciplinary science and involves various disciplines of aquaculture, breeding, genetics, farming, diagnosing various diseases and illnesses in fishes, medical treatment, and others.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must have acquired a minimum aggregate of 50% in 10+2 pass in the science stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as subjects.
Candidates applying for B.F.Sc. courses in Fisheries after the completion of 10+2 with PCB group have to clear the entrance examination conducted by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) Common Entrance Test.
Some colleges and institutes provide direct admission and few entrance tests based on marks and a round of personal interviews of the candidates.
