Bachelor of Mass Communication is a three-year full-time undergraduate degree programme specializing in advertising, media and strategic communication, and public relations. Different tools are used to transfer information such as Telephone, Radio, Television, Internet, Newspaper, etc.
Mass communication research includes media institutions and processes such as diffusion of information, and media effects such as persuasion or manipulation of public opinion. The duration of the course is three years and it is a career originating in nature. Eligibility Criteria for BMC (Bachelor in Mass Communication)
1. The Candidate Should have passed 10 + 2 any stream from a recognized board shall be eligible for the course.
2. Applicants must achieve at least 50% to 60% of the points in the relevant proficiency tests.
3. Eligibility conditions for candidates from SC/ST/OBC/PwD categories will be 45% marks in the qualifying examinations.
4. Applicants must not be younger than 17 at the time of application.
Admission Process
1. Colleges publish admission notices on their website from June when most Indian universities would have finished degree exams.
2. Candidate to apply for each college, as each college considers each mark the cut-off mark.
3. Some private colleges and deemed universities perform their counselling process by conducting their university-level entrance exams.
4. Some colleges require a minimum of 50% aggregate in the qualifying examination.
5. Candidates who qualify for the test are called for an interview before the final seat allotment.
6. Documents like mark sheets, photographs, signatures and transfer certificates must be scanned and uploaded online to the portal.
7. All documents must be in a specific format and size only to be accepted.
8. Various Entrance Exams such as CUCET, PAT, State University, Central University etc are conducted to enrol students for courses.
