M. Tech (Electrical & Electronics Engineering) Power System Engineering is a 2 year post-graduate programme. The course mainly focuses on electrical machines, high voltage DC transmission, power electronics and electrical devices’ control. MTech Electrical Power System mainly focuses on building knowledge, creating, testing, and controlling electronic power controllers and electrical machines.
The coursework of the programme includes economic, sustainable, efficient and reliable energy generation. In addition, it also focuses on concepts like conversion, transmission, distribution, storage and utilization of electric energy.
M.Tech Power System in Eligibility Criteria
Pass with 60% aggregate marks in B.E. or B.Tech. ( Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Electronics Engineering or Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Control or Electronics and Instrumentation) or equivalent. 5% relaxation to North-East states and Sikkim candidates/ Defence Personnel and their Dependents/ Wards of Kashmiri Migrants.
Admissions criteria of MTech Electrical Power System differ from one institute to another as some colleges admit students based on the graduation score while others accept GATE or any other equivalent entrance exam qualified students.
