BDS or Bachelor of Dental Science course is a 4-year bachelor's dentistry course. In this course, the students are taught about dentures, dental problems, and surgery. Eligibility
The candidate must have passed the 10+2 qualifying exam or an equivalent degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate from a recognized institute. They must have studied the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology compulsorily in their 10+2.
Admission to BDS is granted through a national competitive examination called NEET. After clearing the entrance exam, students have to participate in the counseling process organized by the respective authority. Seats will be allotted to candidates on the basis of rank, filled choices, and availability of seats.
The entrance examination is conducted in a large number of centers in all the major cities all over India. The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test [NEET] conducted by the CBSE is common for both the MBBS and the Bachelor of Dental Sciences [BDS]. The allocation of institutions is based on merit.
