University Grants Commission, UGC has released an important notice for PhD students. The notice regarding students of PhD getting is led by advertisements for online PhD programmes offered by EduTech Companies in collaboration with Foreign Educational Institutes.
The Commission in this regard has issued a notice which clearly mentions that students and the public, at large should not be misled by advertisements for online programmes offered by the EduTech companies in collaboration with any foreign educational institutes as these online programmes are not recognized by UGC.
The UGC has also exempted students pursuing PhD programmes from taking two academic degrees simultaneously under its new regulation. Whereas, students from all other courses, including diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, will be able to pursue two academic programmes either in physical mode or open or distance mode under guidelines issued in April.
