Top Class Education Scheme Scholarship For SC Students

The scheme aims to recognise and promote quality education amongst students belonging to SCs, by providing full financial support. The Scheme will cover SC students pursuing studies beyond the 12th class. Top Class Education Scheme for SC Students is specially provided by the Central Government to help the students who are good in their studies to successfully continue their education.

The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment is inviting applications for Top Class Education Scheme for SC Students 2022-23 from Scheduled Caste students who have taken admitted at the undergraduate or postgraduate level. The scheme aims to recognize and promote quality education beyond class 12 among Scheduled Caste students. A total of 1,500 fresh scholarships are disbursed every year under this scheme.

Objective and Coverage of Top Class Education Scheme Scholarship for SC Students

1. The Scheme aims at recognizing and promoting quality education amongst students belonging to SCs, by providing full financial support. The Scheme will cover SC students pursuing studies beyond the 12th class.

2. The Scheme will operate in all the institutions notified by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

3. The scholarship, once awarded, will continue till the completion of the course, subject to the satisfactory performance of the student.

Eligibility Criteria for Top Class Education Scheme Scholarship for SC Students

1. Must belong to the Scheduled Caste category.

2. Must have completed class 12.

3. Must have taken admission for a full-time course in a notified institution through general selection criteria prescribed by respective institutions.

4. Must belong to a family where the annual income is not more than INR 6.00 Lakhs from all sources.

5. More than two siblings from a family are not permitted to apply for the scholarship.

6. The scholarship will be terminated if the student fails to pass the final examination each year. He/She will, however, remain eligible for the post-matric scholarship.

Top Class Education Scholarship for SC Students Rewards and Benefits

1. Full tuition fee and non-refundable charges of up to INR 2.00 Lakhs per annum for private sector institutions and up to INR 3.72 Lakhs per annum for private sector flying clubs for Commercial Pilot Training and Type Rating Courses

2. Living expenses: INR 2,220 per month

3. Books and stationery: INR 3,000 per annum

4. Computer/Laptop with UPS and Printer of any reputed brand: INR 45,000 (one-time assistance)

5. The scholarship, once awarded, will continue till the completion of the course, subject to the satisfactory performance of the student.

Application Process

1. Visit the National Scholarship Portal website.

2. Click on new registration on the home page.

3. Read and Agree to the terms and conditions and click on continue.

4. Enter the scholarship details and personal details.

5. Enter the bank details such as bank name, IFSC, account number, etc.

6. Click on the register button after giving the aadhar number/bank account number as identification details.

7. An OTP number will be generated once the mobile number gets verified.

8. Login with the OTP number and fill out the form.

9. Application ID and Password will be given for future reference.
