The main purpose of starting any scholarship is to support the education of deserving students. A merit-based scholarship, in particular, is for students who are academically meritorious to encourage them to pursue their further education.
Scholarship Scheme List
Kishore Vigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY)
This scheme is meant to support students pursuing 11th, 12th, undergraduate or postgraduate levels in the science stream. The selection of the candidates is based on the qualifying examination and interview rounds. Students studying in class 11th or 12th have to get at least 75 percent marks in Mathematics and Science subjects in their class 10 board exam.
In addition, students in the first year of the undergraduate or postgraduate program in the science stream are required to score at least 60 percent marks in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in the Class 12 board exam.
Fellows are selected from among the students who are currently pursuing XI, XII, and first-year undergraduate (B.Sc./BS/B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./MS) Basic Science (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) and is interested in scientific research.

National Talent Search Examination, NTSE
National Talent Search Examination, NTSE This is a National Level Talent Search Examination that aims to identify and nurture young talent through financial assistance at various stages of education. The examination is conducted at both the state and national levels. For state-level exams, 10th-grade students studying in accredited schools can appear. However, for the national level examination, students are required to pass the state level examination.

Post Graduate Merit Scholarship for University Rank Holders
The UGC offers this scholarship, with the aim of encouraging talented students for postgraduate education and helping them with their expenses. Students who achieve first and second rank in their undergraduate examination (in life sciences, physics, chemistry, earth sciences, mathematical sciences, social sciences, commerce, or languages) are eligible for this scholarship.
They are required to pursue a postgraduate course from an affiliated university. Candidates must be under 30 years of age and must have obtained at least 60 percent marks in graduation.

Eligibility: At the undergraduate level, university rank holders (first and second) who are pursuing PG course
Reward: Rs 3,100 per month for two years

North-South Foundation (NSF) Scholarship
Students who have passed the class 12 examination and are entering engineering, medicine, or diploma in the engineering program are eligible for this scholarship. A total of 1,500 students are selected under this scholarship.
Students should be among the top 10 percent in class 10, 12, CET, NEET, JEE rank in their state. The annual income of his family should be less than 1 lakh rupees. He must have obtained admission in a vocational course like Engineering, Architecture, Medicine, Pharmacy, Diploma in Agriculture, and Diploma in Engineering in a government or government-aided college.

SOF Girls Scholarship Scheme (G.C.S.S)
This scholarship is to assist meritorious girl students from economically weaker families to continue their schooling. Girls studying in classes 1 to 10 are eligible for the scholarship.
They are required to score at least 60 percent marks in the previous class of study. Also, their parents' combined monthly income should be less than Rs 15,000. A total of 300 needy students will get this scholarship.
