Steps to register and fill choices
1. Visit the official JoSAA website https://josaa.nic.in/
2. Click on the registration link for "JoSAA Counselling 2025".
3. Enter your JEE Main 2025 application number, candidate name, mother's name and date of birth.
4. Verify the OTP sent to your registered mobile number and email address.
5. Create a new password for the JoSAA portal.
6. Login with your JEE Main 2025 application number and the newly created password, verifying with the OTP.
7. Verify your details and confirm registration. You can edit some personal and contact details during this phase.
8. Fill in your choices of institutes and programs according to your preferences. It is advisable to list as many options as possible.
9. Lock your choices before the deadline. Unlocked choices will be auto-locked by the system at the deadline.
Counseling rounds
· JoSAA 2025 counseling involved multiple rounds of seat allocation, with the final (6th) round for IITs and the NIT+ system concluded on July 16, 2025.
· Candidates had options (Freeze, Float, Slide) to manage their seat acceptance and upgradation preferences.
Important points to remember
· There is no fee for JoSAA registration and choice filling.
· A seat acceptance fee is required to secure an allotted seat after seat allocation.

· Candidates are not allowed to modify choices after the deadline.

Key Dates of JoSAA Counseling
The registration and choice filling period for JoSAA 2025 was from June 3 to June 12, 2025. Mock seat allocations were conducted on June 9 and June 11, 2025. JoSAA counselling for 2025 has 6 rounds, with Round 6 seat allotment declared on July 16, 2025.
· Online reporting for Round 6 is open until July 20, 2025.
· The option to withdraw a seat in Round 6 for the NIT+ system is available from July 16 to 22, 2025.
· Payment of the Partial Admission Fee (PAF) for provisional seats in the NIT+ system is from July 23 to 27, 2025.
· The deadline to resolve fee payment issues for Round 6 is July 21, 2025.
· The deadline to resolve PAF payment issues is July 28, 2025.
