Benefits & Types of Assam Scholarships
1. Pre-Matric Scholarship for SC Students (Class 1–10):
Books and ad-hoc grants: INR 750/year (day scholars), INR 1,000/year (hostellers).
Disability allowance: Up to INR 240/year.

Eligibility Criteria for Assam Scholarship
1. Applicants must be permanent residents or domiciled in.
2. Scholarships cover students from Class 1 to postgraduate levels, including professional courses (e.g., engineering, medical, ITI, diploma).
3. Community/Category: Many scholarships target specific groups such as SC, ST, OBC, minorities (Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi), tea tribes, or differently-abled students.
4. Income Criteria: Annual family income typically must not exceed: INR 2.5 lakh for SC/ST pre-matric and post-matric scholarships. INR 5 lakh for SIRISH scholarships (tea tribes). No income ceiling for some SC pre-matric scholarships (Class 1–8).
5. Minimum 55–60% marks in the last qualifying exam for merit-based scholarships (e.g., Combined Merit, NEC Merit).
6. Minimum 60% attendance for some pre-matric schemes.
7. Students must be enrolled in government or government-recognised schools/colleges/universities.
8. For SC pre-matric (Class 1–10), children of parents engaged in manual scavenging, tanning, flaying, waste picking, or hazardous cleaning jobs are eligible.
9. For OBC scholarships, a valid OBC certificate is mandatory.
10. For SIRISH, students must belong to the tea tribes or Adivasi communities.
Application Process
Step 1: The applicant must visit the official NSP website by clicking this link to apply for the Assam Scholarship 2025.
Step 2: Select “New Registration.” on the main page. After reading all of the instructions on the new page, click Continue.
Step 3: After entering your mobile number and other information, click “Verify.”
Step 4: You must now enter your login information and select the “Application Form” option to log in.
Step 5: On the screen, the application form will appear.
Step 6: Provide information such as the student’s name, date of birth, community or category, father’s name, Aadhaar card number, mobile number, scholarship category, gender, religion, mother’s name, annual family income, email address, etc. after entering the state of residence.
Step 7: You must select the option labeled “Save & Proceed” Put the files online.You must select the “Final Submission” option.The application will be submitted with success.
Renewal of Scholarship Application
Step 1: to renew the Scholarship Application the student must visit the official NSP website first and the home page will open on the screen.
Step 2: on the homepage click on the drop-down menu and select Apply scholarship option. After clicking on that a Login page will appear.
Step 3: use your Application ID or username and Password and then click on submit. Your profile will open and there you have to click on the Renew application.
Step 4: fill in and select all the details carefully and then after re-checking everything click on submit this way your application will be renewed for the scholarship.
2025-26 Updates: As of May 26, 2025, application windows for some schemes may not have opened. Regularly monitor NSP or state portals for notifications.
