Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is a Central Open University, located in New Delhi (India). This University was established in the year 1985 by an Act of Parliament (Indira Gandhi National Open University Act, 1985 (IGNOU Act 1985)). The University was founded to offer high-quality education through Open and Distance Learning mode. It is affiliated to Government of India & approved by University Grant Commission (UGC), New Delhi. This is the first open University in India that have been Accredited by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) with grade A++. IGNOU offers more than 200 Certificate, Diploma, UG, PG and Ph.D Programmes. The University has 21 Schools of Studies and 67 Regional Centres.
