ABOUT

GITAM University Hyderabad, was established in the year 2009 with 4 UG Programs CSE, ECE, IT and EEE. Today GITAM is one of the most sought after centres of higher education in the Telangana State. During the year 2010, Mechanical and Civil branches were established. The schools flagships program of B. Tech in Aerospace Engineering (2011) is designed in tune with the advancement in aviation, defense and space craft technologies. As on today the institute offers 9 UG, 6 PG and 2 integrated dual degree Programmes in Electronics & Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering and Ph. D programmes in all engineering disciplines.The school has a high reputation for its engineering disciplines as it focuses on providing hands-on experience on the latest technologies to prepare the students industry ready. The school is also anchored by highly qualified and experienced faculty. Hyderabad, being an industrial hub, it has established a skill development centre to produce skilled man power to cater to the requirements of the industry. The faculty members of the Institute are undertaking externally funded research projects from DST, UGC, BARC and DRDO. GITAM centre for incubation and entrepreneurship development is engaged in encouraging the students to ideate, analyse, process, product development and finally leading to start-ups.PRAMANA - The annual techno-cultural-management fest of GITAM Hyderabad which is held in the first week of February every year since 2010. It attracts 6000+ students from across the state and is the largest fest on the campus. The students of the Institute excel not only in curricular activities but also in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities viz., participation in science activity centre, professional bodies like Electronics Students Technical Association, IETE, Association of Institution of Engineers, Engineers without borders (I), IEEE, CSI and ISTE.  Cultural Club (Kalakrithi), GITAM Aero Club, Literary club, sports and social service activities through NSS and Rotaract.The Knowledge Resource Centre has a collection of books, periodicals and monographs in the fields of engineering, technology, science, humanities, arts and management. The institute has more than 3000 alumni who occupied prominent positions as CEOs, academicians and entrepreneurs, researchers, civil servants, vice presidents in prestigious institutions and organizations across the globe. The learner-centred teaching methodology with need based curriculum designed by academic experts prepares university graduates to successfully meet the academic and the corporate challenges. Flexible Choice Based Credit System ( CBCS ) incorporating outcome based educational objectives offered by the institute provides opportunity for cafeteria approach, interdisciplinary and skill-based learning.
