SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) is a deemed university, formerly known as SRM University. It is located in Kattankulathur, Kanchipuram, near Chennai. SRM Chennai was founded in 1985 as SRM Engineering College in Kattankulathur, under the University of Madras.

SRM University Admission Procedure 2021
1. Admission into SRM University will be purely based on scores of entrance tests or national level scores. Candidates will have to qualify for the test with minimum qualifying marks to get entry into UG & PG course.
2. For MBA admission, candidates will have to qualify SRMJEEM & then have to appear & clear GD & PI interview rounds. Candidates who will apply through state level entrance or state level board must obtain rank under top 100 ranks.
3. Candidates appearing under the top 1000 ranks in JEE Main will be also eligible for admission into B.Tech programs. Students can also apply through other exams such as GMAT/CAT /MAT/XAT/TANCET and CMAT for management and GATE, TANCET, etc. for engineering.

SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai is the conducting authority for the SRMJEEE exam for admission to B.E/B. Tech or undergraduate engineering courses offered by the university.
SRM Institute of Science and Technology conducts the SRMJEEE exam for admission to UG engineering courses offered by the University. SRMJEEE is a computer-based exam of 2 hours 30 minutes with 125 multiple-choice questions.
The questions will be spread over the 5 sections of the exam which include Physics, Maths, Chemistry, English, and Aptitude. As per the SRMJEEE exam pattern 2021 and marking scheme, candidates will be awarded 1 mark for each correct answer and there will be no negative marking.
