Medical Council of India (MCI) Screening Exam which is also known as MCI Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE) is a qualifying exam conducted by the National Board of Examination (NBE) in India. Only the candidates who have passed MBBS from MCI recognized medical colleges abroad are eligible to appear FMGE.
Indian students who completed MBBS abroad in countries like Russia, China, Philippines, Georgia, Kirgizstan, Kazakhstan, Nepal, Bangladesh & other foreign countries must clear MCI Exam for Foreign Medical Graduates to get the license to practice in India.
After passing MCI Exam for Foreign Medical Graduates, students have to undergo a compulsory 1-year rotatory internship in India after which they get permanent registration with MCI (National Medical Commission) or State Medical Council. FMGE is a screening test for medical graduates to be eligible to practice medicine in the country.

Eligibility Criteria for FMGE
1. Candidates applying to FMGE must be either an Indian national or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI).
2. Candidates must have the primary medical qualification which is approved by the Indian Embassy concerned, to be a recognized qualification for enrolment as a medical practitioner in India.
3. After passing MCI Screening Exam, during internship the students may appear NEET-PG if they want to pursue post-graduation (MD/ MS/ DNB/ Diploma).
4. Candidates who have completed their undergraduate, as well as postgraduate medical qualification from the following countries, are not required to appear for FMGE December session screening test to get the permanent or provisional registration certificate.

Application Process for FMGE
1. NBE has released the FMGE application form at nbe.edu.in. Only those who will successfully register will be eligible to appear for the screening exam.
2. Candidates should fill out the application form without any mistakes or their registration will not be completed.
3. Candidates are advised to keep checking this page for all the updates.
4. Even if candidates fill in any wrong information, the conducting authority opens its application portal again after all the registration is done, to allow candidates to make corrections.
5. Applications of aspirants providing incorrect information will not be considered an applicants may be further debarred from appearing in any examinations conducted by NBE or Other Institutions.
6. Candidates who will successfully complete the application process of FMGE will receive a confirmation letter sent by NBE on their registered email IDs.
Application Fee
1. The registration Fee for FMGE is Rs 7080/- for all candidates.
2. The registration fee will be paid through a payment gateway provided using a Credit Card/Debit Card issued by banks of India or through Net Banking.
3. Application Fee will neither be refunded nor be carried forward under any circumstance.
FMGE Exam Pattern
All the candidates are provided with 3 attempts to qualify FMGE and if they are not able to clear the test in the three attempts, they will not be eligible to sign up with the Medical Council of India/State Medical Council.
