Common Admission Test or CAT is the most crucial entrance examination for seeking MBA admissions. It is an all-India test commenced by IIM or Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) as an entrance exam to give admission to the Post-graduate and Fellow Programs in the various management courses of management institutes located in India.

Common Admission Test (CAT Exam 2023) is a computer-based selection test conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) as a prerequisite for admissions to their business administration programs. The official registration of CAT begins in the month of August and the test will be conducted in November.

CAT Exam 2023 Eligibility

1. Candidates are required to have a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA with 45% for SC category candidates, ST and DA (Differently Abled) categories.

2. Candidates should have 50% in graduation for general candidates and CA, CS, ICWA degrees are also eligible to take the exam.

3. There is no limit to taking the CAT exam.

4. Although there is no age limit for both the CAT exam qualification and the IIM qualification.

5. Reservation in the CAT exam is offered to the reserved quota students as per the GOI guidelines. There is a 5% relaxation in the qualifying percentage and also the qualifying percentile is subsidized for such candidates.

CAT 2023 Application Form

Candidates must read the detail given below to avoid any mistake while filling the form:

1. Before filling the application form, candidates must do the registration.

2. Changes to any of the information in the application form are not possible.

3. Candidates can log out and exit the form any numbers of time to edit and complete later or save & continue till they submit the application form.

How to apply for CAT Exam 2023 Registration?

The CAT application forms will be available on the official website- IIMCAT. The aspirants will have to fill the CAT registration cum application form as per the process given below:

1. Log on to CAT 2023 website

2. Create a user ID by entering details such as name, date of birth, email ID, and phone number

3. Click on 'Generate OTP'

4. On successful registration, an OTP will be sent on the registered mobile number

5. Verify CAT registration by entering the OTP in the given field and log in again

6. Enter all the information asked- personal details, academic details, work experience

7. Upload scanned signature and photograph

8. Select test cities and preferred IIM campus for WAT-PI shortlisting

9. Make a payment of CAT application fees via debit/credit card or net banking.

After completing the above two steps, candidates will need to need to proceed with the payment process to complete the application process.

CAT 2023 Exam Pattern

1. The candidate will appear in the examination using the online mode.

2. The entire question paper consisted of 100 questions.

3. These questions are based on data interpretation, verbal ability, logical reasoning, and quantitative ability.

4. The exam duration will be 2 hours, 50 minutes.

5. For every question, 3 marks will be added and 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect question. However, if the candidate has not answered the question then no mark is given to it.

CAT Exam 2023 Admit Card

The admit card will be provided to the candidates through the online mode. One needs to make use of the official website of CAT, the admit card can be acquired. Make use of the admit card during the time of examination as it is important to document, needs to be with the candidates while attempting for the exam.

How to Download CAT Admit Card 2023?

Step 1: Open the website http://www.iimcat.ac.in.

Step 2: After opening the website click on the download link of “CAT Admit Card 2022”.

Step 3: Once you will click on the link, you will be redirected to the new window where you will have to log in with your CAT credentials.

Step 4: After filling in the details, the Pop-Up notification regarding your application form will be appearing there.

Step 5: After that, the complete information linked to the CAT candidate details will appear on the screen.

Step 6: Next, you have to click on the download tab of admit card.

Step 7: After clicking, a new page will be appearing there which will show the allotted test center details and CAT exam shift time along with the CAT 2022 admit card.

Step 8: Once you reach your admit card then first read all the details mentioned there and if everything is fine then take a hard copy of that.

CAT 2023 Result

It is expected that the final result of CAT 2023 will be released by the IIM within the first half of January 2024. A Scorecard of the candidates will be available along with the CAT 2023 result.

The authorities will notify the candidates regarding their percentile via SMS or Mail on their registered contact details. It should be noted that the validity of the CAT certificate will be for 1 year only.
