Eligibility Criteria for IIT JEE Main
There are many eligibility criteria set by NTA.
1. Age Limit: There is no age limit for the candidates to appear for the JEE Main examination. However, candidates should satisfy themselves regarding the age limit while taking admitted at a particular institute.
2. Year of Appearance in Qualifying Examination (QE): Candidates who have passed class 12 or its equivalent qualifying examination in 2022 are only eligible. Candidates appearing for the final examinations in class 12 are also eligible.
3. Number of subjects in the Qualifying Examination: Candidates must have taken at least five subjects in the class 12 qualifying examination in order to apply online for JEE Main 2022. The candidate must have studied Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in qualifying examination for B.Arch.
4. Percentage of Marks: Candidates have to secure a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate for admission to pioneer institutes in the country such as IITs, IIITs, NITs, and CFTIs. However, it is 65% for reserved categories.
5. B.Arch Eligibility: The paper-II is B.Arch. Candidates who are aiming for admission to this course must have passed 10+2 or its equivalent with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The diploma holders are not eligible to apply.
Admission Process
1. IIT JEE is a national-level engineering entrance exam consisting of two stages – JEE Main & JEE Advanced.
2. JEE Main is a screening exam to select the candidates who will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced, which will serve as the final exam to select candidates for admission into prestigious IITs.
3. Every year, the IITs conduct a Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) to select candidates for the 4-year B.Tech, B.Pharm, 5-year B.Arch, Integrated M.Sc. and M.Tech courses.

1. Candidates have to visit the official website of the Joint Entrance Examination – jeemain.nta.nic.in.
2. On the homepage, click on the link ‘Registration for JEE Main 2022’
3. Enter your Application Number and Password to login.
4. Now you can start filling JEE Mains form by giving all the details, uploading important documents, and paying the registration fee.
5. After submitting, do not forget to download and print a copy of JEE Main form for future reference.
