Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Hospital Administration is a three-year postgraduate course. MD hospital administration is basically a nonclinical branch that deals with the management of hospitals, you don't directly diagnose or treat patients as such. It's more similar to an MBA program in health care management.
As for scope, these professionals are hired by private & corporate hospitals not so much by government hospitals, but you will have to face competition from MBAs as they are more qualified in financial management, and business management, demand lesser salaries, and are more easily available.
