Film Making is a professional course. The film making, like most creative art forms, is known to be organized chaos. Film making is a fine art which revolves around the process of conceptualising a story, scriptwriting, directing, shooting, sound recording, lighting, editing, production controlling and screening.
The film is a medium through which the director conveys his message to the masses. The filmmaker/ director is a painter who draws his ideas on the canvas of the film. It is, however, an easy way to communicate with the masses. On the other hand, films or movies serve the purpose of entertainment and are very popular as an art form.

Eligibility Criteria for Film Making
1. Applicant should have a 12th in any discipline from a recognized board with a minimum of 50% marks or its equivalent CGPA.
2. Applicants should have a minimum of computer knowledge.
3. There is an age limit prescribed by a few institutes that provide part-time degrees.
4. According to some institutes, a candidate’s age should not be less than 17 years and not more than 27 years.
5. Candidates should have aggregate marks of 40% to 50% in the SC/ST/PWD.
Admission Process
1. The admission to the Filmmaking Course is granted based on an entrance exam or merit in the board examination.
2. Some colleges interview students before granting admission.
3. These colleges want to verify the candidates’ passion and zeal for Filmmaking.
Career after Film Making
Students can work in job roles of an assistant camera operator, assistant director, and alike and earn INR 1 - 2 lakhs per annum. With years of experience, they can become cinematographer, video editor, videographer, and director and earn up to INR 7 - 8 lakhs annually.
The producer’s main job is to make sure that everybody else is doing theirs. He chooses the story, manages resources, appoints the cast and crew including the director, chooses locations, manages legalese etc. He can even direct. That is usually held by Mass Communication graduates from film and television institutes.
After completing the course, students can work as Camera Production Assistant, Motion Control Operator, Assistant Director, Assistant Production Controller, Camera Operator and Camera Assistant etc initially. Film Making courses provide sufficient knowledge and skills to gear up students for the fast-paced film industry.
